Finnings office development, Glasgow

Working within the site of a live CAT plant assembly and maintenance depot Story undertook demolition of an existing office building and constructed a replacement 2 storey office building and associated car parking and hard landscaping works.

The new office construction involved breaking and tieing into the existing factory production and stores areas. All of the works had to be undertaken without causing disruption to the daily factory operations.

Initially over budget, Story worked closely with the architects and client to carry out an extensive value engineering exercise of the cladding, M&E and finishings packages. The success of this ensured that, without compromising the quality of the build, the final account came in under the original budget even after a number of client variations were absorbed.
