Special Collections

Work consisted of modifications to the existing special collections room with regard to fire proofing. All the existing air conditioning ducts etc were removed and rerouted around the room to eliminate the risk of fire travelling through them. All light fittings were also made flame proof.

An additional Special Collections Room was constructed with the above specification applying and eco-space shelving installed. These rooms are to hold the library’s Special Collections, some of which are priceless and irreplaceable.

Robinson Quad

Work consisted of lifting and relaying paving to the entrance and surrounding area of Robinson Library and Politics Building. Also a new students meeting area was constructed with granite and oak seating feature. Cycle shelters and vehicle deterrent bollards were also installed.

Robinson Bridge

The pedestrian bridge linking the university main campus and Robinson Library was totally refurbished. New paving, lighting ceiling and entrance facade were installed, along with re-painted internally and vehicle deterrent bollards.
