Extension to Accident and Emergency Dept, Dumfries

The works consisted of a two storey extension to the existing accident & emergency department to form additional consulting rooms, ‘out of hours’ telephony department and expansion of the existing waiting area. The works incorporated all trades including mechanical and electrical installations.

The project involved managing the challenge of working within a live hospital environment with close liaison with the hospital trust to control traffic movements and working areas.

A series of phased handovers was requested in order to cause minimal disruption to staff and ensure that the project was delivered on schedule.
